About this tool

A QR Code (Quick Response Code) is a two-dimensional barcode that can store up to a few kilobytes of data — text, URLs, contacts, Wi-Fi credentials, messages — and can be read by any smartphone camera. This tool generates customizable QR Codes directly in the browser, with no server and no usage limit.

To generate a QR Code, just type or paste the desired content in the text field. The image updates in real time. You can adjust the **size** (128 px to 1024 px), the **module color** (the dark squares) and the **background color**, creating QR Codes with custom branding. When you are happy with the result, click "Download PNG" to save the image to your device.

Common use cases include: creating QR Codes for URLs to embed in printed materials like business cards, flyers and digital menus; generating codes for promotional text or pre-filled WhatsApp messages; using them in presentations to direct the audience to a link; and creating Wi-Fi codes (for that, use the dedicated QR Code WiFi tool).

What is the maximum text length I can encode?

A standard QR Code supports up to about 3 KB of text. For short URLs or simple messages, any size works well. Very long texts produce denser codes that can be harder to scan at small sizes.

Can I use different colors without breaking readability?

Yes, as long as there is sufficient contrast between the module color and the background. Light background with dark modules is the safest option. Avoid using similar colors for modules and background.
